Future Opportunity
• Degree/Education: Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine (DPM). Graduate from a school of Podiatric Medicine accredited by the Council on Podiatric Medical Education (CPME) under the authority of American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA).
• Certifications Board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery (ABPS) or the American Board of Podiatric Medicine (ABPM). Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) are required.
• Experience: 1 year within the last two years. (see PWS Clinical Competency 5.2.6.4.1)
• Licensure/Registration: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a podiatrist.
The duties include but are not limited to the following:
• Perform a full range of podiatry services in accordance with training and privileges.
• Treat bone, muscle, and joint disorders affecting the feet.
• Provide comprehensive joint and gait analysis as related to foot and ankle.
• Order x-rays of foot and ankle.
• Order and interpret appropriate laboratory studies in the practice of podiatric medicine and surgery.
• Documentation. Contractor employees shall prepare all documentation to meet or exceed established MTF standards, to include, but not limited to: timeliness, accuracy, content, and signature. Contractor employees shall only use MTF and Air Force-approved abbreviations for documentation in the patient health records and follow the MTF’s Do Not Use Abbreviation List. • Medical Records Documentation. Health care providers shall complete medical records documentation within 72 business hours of the encounter with the patient.
• Coding. Contractor employees shall use the proper coding of procedures and treatment, and shall maintain coding accuracy (CPT/E&M/procedure) at the same standard, 90% or higher, as military and civil service health care providers engaged in comparable work.
Routine work hours will be scheduled by the Orthopedic Flight Commander to correspond with the needs of the department. Schedules may vary to accommodate demand. The Podiatrist will be on duty in the Orthopedic/Podiatry Clinic Monday through Friday, 0700-1600. Shall work a minimum of 40 hours a week, 9 hours per day with a 1-hour non-paid lunch. Any schedule changes must be submitted to the COR and approved by the contracting officer. All changes will be approved in writing and agreed upon by the contracting officer and the contractor.
