Career changing opportunity! In this position you will provide clerical/administrative support. Schedules appointments in MHS GENESIS for primary care, specialty, and subspecialty medical care. In addition to scheduling requested appointments, this position will call patients to schedule, reschedule, and/or cancel appointments as needed, to include appointments for consult/referral specialty care within the MTF. You will serve as a medical records technician to process and maintain inpatient, outpatient or ambulatory procedure unit medical records. Skillfully compile or extract medical records data to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

The duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Receive telephone calls and visitors to the clinic; ascertain the nature of the business and direct callers and visitors to the appropriate staff.
- Provide basic information based on personal knowledge and furnish official information when
- Input, schedule appointments, end of day processing, manipulate, and retrieve data from the MHS
- Genesis or other in- house electronic
- Schedule patient consults and follow up appointments, place consult requests for referral management, retrieve x-ray and laboratory results, enter patients’ information and prepare hard copies of data as needed.
- Independently screen patients who request initial treatment or unscheduled examinations and obtains information regarding the type of medical problem and prior treatment received. Review documents to obtainidentifying information and consult with Nurse Practitioner/Physician(s) to determine eligibility for medical treatment.
- Schedule appointments for patients eligible for treatment based on the consult received; keep medical staff informed of all scheduled appointments and admissions.
- Schedule patient appointments for tests such as x-rays and laboratory exams; explain necessary test preparations to patients and records information such as date, type of exam, and procedures required on appointment Will schedule appointments for a multi-disciplinary service.
- Receive telephone reports of laboratory findings and relay reports to physician or nurse in a timely and accurate manner.
- Review charts of patients being discharged for completeness of information and make follow up appointments based on physician Interface with various outside medical facilities to obtain patient records.
- Assemble patient consults/records in sequential and chronological File new material, such as results of laboratory tests, x-rays, and other examinations in patient charts.
- Disassemble discharged inpatients’ records and place components in order. Establish and maintain a clinic research chart for each patient Ensure that all data is entered in charts accurately and timely.
- Perform minutes (summary) of medical staff meetings as requested by professional members of the staff, search patient charts and compile related information such as laboratory, test, results, and

- Use office automation systems and various software packages to accomplish work. - Interface with cardiology/vascular surgery/CT surgery staff in establishing a daily clinic room for outpatient office visits.
- Maintain approximate workload:
- Receives telephone calls and visitors to the clinic
- Screen patients and review documents to obtain identifying information to determine eligibility and schedules appointments daily.
- Initiates 30 patient appointments for tests such as x-rays, and laboratory exams
- Receives 30 telephone reports of laboratory findings and relays reports as required
- Schedule appointments for 20 Cardio-thoracic
- Provide guidance to patients on how to use the new advanced technology that is required of It is called the new Technology for registering. (Kiosk Machine).
Monday-Friday, (8 hr. shift) between 0645-1700 with a 30 min unpaid lunch break
