PPDG is seeking an exceptional Physician – Intensivist (ICU and Tele-ICU) to join our team! Focus will be on virtual, and bedside, comprehensive care monitoring and consultation to on-site medical staff caring for acute and/or chronically ill adults to geriatric patient populations with complex and critical medical-surgical conditions in the Navy’s premiere medical center in San Diego California.
This position requires use of both traditional virtual health (VH) tools and technologies (remote electronic health record access, far-end controllable patient-side camera systems, remote bio-physiologic monitoring systems), as well as next generation VH modalities (such as holographic-enabled procedural tele-mentorship, tele-robotics, AI-guided evaluation and care, and new tools, technologies, and processes which have yet to be identified and/or invented). Other duties and responsibilities include:
- Perform medical and surgical procedures as necessary
- Prescribe medications and treatments
- Assess patient health through interviews and physical examinations
- Communicate information to patients regarding diagnosis and treatment goals
- Maintain patient medical records
- Facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals and medical facilities
Degree: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) from an accredited medical school in the United States or Canada.
Experience: 3 years’ experience within the last (5) years of adult critical care in a high-acuity setting or at least 3 years, experience within the past (5) years of adult Tele-Critical Care experience.
Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice medicine.
Certification: Board eligible or board certified.
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS)
